Our knickers offer up to 12 hours of absorption without leaking, smelling or feeling damp, so there's no need to change it in the middle of the day.

Use on its own if you have a normal to heavy period or as a back-up for other sanitary protection - a cup or tampon for example - during the first day of your period if your flow is really heavy (hemorrhagic periods, endometriosis, etc.).

Tip: you can also wear your Sisters Republic period underwear in anticipation of your period to avoid unpleasant surprises. Since our underwear is super thin (less than 3 mm thick), it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a nappy and it doesn’t bulk under clothing, even tight-fitting clothing, unlike pads 😉.
